This auction is for a 1974 Vermont License Plate. It is not a vanity but rather an interesting number choice....1981 D. Could be translated to any 1981 car make or model (even though it is a 1974 plate!) that starts with a D...Dodge, Datsun, DeVille, Demon, Dart, Duster, Durango, etc.
See the picture and click on it to enlarge to see the plate clearer and judge the condition for yourself before you bid as everyone's opinion varies. In my opinion it looks better than it appears in the picture. It is over three years old and does not violate ebay's rules. It expired in 1974.
