Antique composition doll. This doll is marked on the back of her neck area: Metropolitan Doll Co.
Her dress is not original,
although
I believe it was made for her. We had other size dolls from this estate with similar made dresses on them. It velcro in the back. I'm not sure if the ribbon in her hair is original.
This doll has a composition head and composition arms. Her body and legs are stuffed with straw. She also has a loop of
hair that holds a ribbon or bow. Please refer to condition description and pictures for details
Measures approximately 17" long.
This doll came from a local estate. She was the doll of a woman in our community who passed away a few years ago. This woman lived in the same house her entire life. This doll has been tucked away in that house since the early 1920s would be my guess.
