    Civil War West Virginia Medal 1861 - 1865 Impressed on the Rim: 'Chas BOYKE Co D 10th Regt Inf Vols' in Wonderful Original Condition as Photographed with an alteration for watch fob use as seen & struck by 'A. Demarest NY' for Abraham Demarest engraver and medal maker, see below (1).  The recipient of the medal was Corporal Charles Boyke (Nov 23 1837 - Mar 31 1899) who served with Corps I Company D 10th Regiment Infantry Volunteers West Virginia; mustering in 6 March 1862 and serving the duration of the war until muster out August 9 1865; Corporal Boyke was subsequently a longtime member of GAR Grand Army of The Republic Post 377 in Potwin, KS and is buried nearby (Photo 12 Reference Only) See Below (2)
