Derale has been making quality transmission cooling pans for over 25 years, and this 4L60E or 700R4 transmission pan is designed with the performance enthusiast in mind. Fits most '82-'99 GM 700-R4 and 4L60E transmission (both 2WD and 4WD).

Summary:
Installed on my 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. I use the truck for towing the boat or car trailer. Pro:Great design with cooling tubes. All the bolt holes line up, gasket surface is flat, no leaks. It Does requires a shallow filter. Con: the temp sensor fitting points straight to the exhaust pipe and heat shield, useless. Drain bolt points straight down. if this is used for off road I would need to relocate it. On my truck the air flow to the trans pan is blocked buy the skid plate and engine. I made a little air diverter from aluminum to help direct air flow to the tubes. I used aluminum so it would crush on impact and not damage anything around it. I do not have a temp sensor so I can not monitor the difference.

Summary:
I had always been interested in this style of after market trans pans since I first seen the ads for them back in the early 80's. I thought this is a good idea, extra fluid and air flow tubes cast into the pan to help keep it cool. Perfect for a bracket racer.Well now I'm finally building my bracket car, and I want to make sure hot trans oil temp won't be an issue...
