  • Condition: This baby doll has a composition flange-head with bright coloring of the face and intaglio eyes. There is crazing of the face and painted hair with some paint rubbed off the hair. The composition hands show some crazing and wear. The cloth body is whole and contains a non-working crier box. The doll is in generally good condition.

    Description

    This 13" composition and cloth Effanbee baby doll was produced in the early 1900's. The doll has lovely rounded pink cheeks, blue intaglio eyes, and a closed pursed mouth. The painted hair is reddish-blonde. The cloth body is stitched at the shoulders and hips. The doll is marked on the head, "EFFANBEE MADE IN USA" ("MADE IN USA" is under the body cloth and does not appear in the photo}. The doll is wearing :
    A vintage, pale blue dress accented with lace and some embroidery on the sleeves.
    A vintage undershirt.
    A pale blue bonnet.
