    Description

    One Brand New
    ENSONIQ ASR-10 Operating System Disk version 3.53 with 7 Samples.
    OSv3.53 was the last and best operating system for the ASR-10. The OS 3.53 Boot Disk requires ROM 1.50B Eproms (see notes below).
    This disk is for the Ensoniq ASR-10, ASR-10R (rack), and ASR-88. The ASR-10 must be booted with the Operating System each time you turn it on. After you Boot the ASR-10, you then must load in a Sample. This Disk has OS 3.53, 7 samples, 12 44.1khz effects, and a parallel effect. You must have a working floppy drive with the OSv3.53 Disk, or a compatible SCSI drive to boot the ASR-10.
    When you buy the OSv3.53 Disk, I will make a copy with a brand new diskette, and boot an ASR-10 with the Disk before it ships. This will guarantee that the Disk you receive will be brand new and tested. If you have an ASR-10 that won't boot up, the first thing to try is a new OS Disk. Its very common for a floppy diskette to go bad. You should always make back-up copies of your work and have a back-up copy of the OS Disk. If the new OS Disk doesn't boot the ASR-10, then you need to consider the floppy drive or other problems.
    IMPORTANT NOTES about the OS VERSION and ROM EPROMS;
    The Operating System (OS) for the ASR-10 is contained on a floppy disk. There are also two Eprom chips on the circuit board that contain the Firmware (ROM), which is the more basic operating instructions. The early version of the Eproms was ROM 1.00. If your ASR-10 has ROM 1.00 Eproms, the OS 3.53 Boot Disk
    is not compatible
    with your ASR-10. You need the OS 1.25 Boot Disk. I sell the OS 1.25 Boot Disk in my Ebay Store, SynthPlus. Most ASR-10's have ROM 1.50B Eproms, which is compatible with the OS 3.53 Boot Disk. The ASR-10
    RACK
    was released with the ROM 1.50B Eproms, so the OS 3.53 Boot Disk is compatible the
    RACK.
    When you try to boot your ASR-10 keyboard with the OS 3.53 Boot Disk and you get the "INCOMPATIBLE OS VERSION' message, this means you have ROM 1.00 Eproms and need the OS 1.25 Boot Disk.
