We are offering in this auction two (2) 1950's Vogue original factory replacement wigs.  These wigs were issued by Vogue and offered for sale in cello bags and came in two styles; ponytail and flip.  These are very rarely found and especially in this condition, unused.  One is a ponytail style (single down center back) and the other is a desirable flip style with the side barrettes.  Vogue used these on their Jill dolls when they came out of the factory as a boxed doll and we believe Jill's wigs were only saran throughout her production years.   What we thought at first was odd,  the instructions in the bag says how to apply your Ginny wig, but this is Jill's.  I think that Vogue just stuck the same glue packet and instructions in all the wig replacement packages (Ginny and Jill) as we have never seen any instructions say Jill.  Also the procedure would be the same; I wonder if Vogue even realized this as we have a few others with the same instruction original sheet we hope to offer at a  later date.
First wig is a beautiful blonde ponytail style with attached bangs, no glue packet, no instructions and no cello marked Jill bag - Never Used Wig
Second wig is a beautiful reddish wig flip style and brass barrettes with an attached bang, glue packet, instructions how to apply a wig and original marked cello bag - Never Used Wig
Cello marked Jill wig bag is still in very good condition with no tears yet, never opened.  Care should be taken when handling if not using on a doll and wanting to display as to not tear the old cello which becomes somewhat more fragile over the years.  Bag says "Jill Hair Styles" in green script.  Bag has never been opened, wig never used.
Some wigs were on store display cards which was a counter card and you could choose either Jill or Ginny off the card, others were in packets with paper labels running across the top.
We have put each wig in an add'l cello protective bag that we purchased to keep them nice and intact for a safe trip to a new owner.  Hopefully someone will be looking for two really nice replacement wigs and with Jill these are the same ones Vogue used on her when the dolls came out of the factory from what we have been told, but you collectors would know for sure.
You are bidding on the two wigs; one is the ponytail style and other is the desirable flip style, as issued by Vogue.
There are instructions in the one envelop, but some of you know how to do it and take the care needed and use the proper glue.  Glue in packet is probably  not useable as it is over 60 years old so nice for display.  We'll leave that all to the new owner and hope that two beautiful dolls that needs a wig will finally have a great new look.
Please take a close look and see if these are something you can use or would like to even use them for display.  It is nice sometimes to have a display with some of the extras that Vogue offered for these dolls.  They thought of everything.  Including over worked, and cut Jill doll wigs that would need a replacement.  We are selling these wigs as pictured and described, final sale; rarely seen offered.
