*RARE* CLEAR CARNIVAL IRIDESCENT GLASS DINNER PLATES (8)

Description

Carnival glass was introduced to mimic centuries old, unearthed antique glassware that displayed metallic iridescent hues. Carnival glass introduced in the early 1900's achieved a peak and was readily available to the public that  quickly sought, collected and indulged with the phletora of wares adorned with iridescent finishes that reflected multicolors. Various well known companies made carnival glass. The public has promptly sought and collected the vast lines ranging from earlier turn-of-the-century wares, to vintage, or more contemporary items. This auction offers an extravagant set of generous sized, vintage square dinner plates made in clear carnival glass. These are not hallmarked, the manufacturer is unknown. Each vintage plate is approx. 9 1/2 inches across the top at widest. The surface on each is shiny and displays a bright metallic iridescent finish that varies on each plate. The fabulous set is free from breaks, cracks, or repairs. While all plates are in outstanding condition, there is evidence of common manufacturing flaws, they show very mild use and one has a very small chip on the edge.
